Art is an energy source that
helps make change possible.
— Jerry Saltz
Lately, I've become fascinated by the notion of concrete space. A space that is at once empty and full, where a soul might find peace uncrowded by wars, words, and the opinions of others.
Here's another oxymoron: We tend to think of our bodies as solid things, but what are we other than energy? And what does that energy — that concrete space that is both here and not here — look like, feel like?
My current art practice involves the attempt to give form to that which lies beyond the five senses; to give voice to something unspoken but very real. Emily Dickinson called hope “the things with feathers that perches in the soul.”
I'm painting the feathers.
